This interactive and hands-on workshop demystifies the shift from MDM to declarative device management, giving the foundational knowledge to understand how the permission-based approach differs from traditional command-based management. Through guided simulations, you'll get direct practice building and deploying blueprints, giving you the confidence to implement the feature into your environment. You'll also spend time with Jamf subject matter experts, exploring what's next for blueprints.
Declarative device management flips the script from sending commands and waiting to setting permissions and having devices take it from there. This hands-on workshop helps you make that shift with confidence.
You'll dig into the protocol foundations that makes declarative management tick and see where it differs from traditional MDM. A learning experience designer will then facilitate a tour of the platform to get you comfortable navigating the new UI, then will release you into a guided simulation building a software update blueprint, so you can watch permission-based management come alive.
Our product team then joins to pull back the curtain on the mechanics and give you a first look at what's coming next on the blueprints roadmap.
From there, an engagement task throws custom declarations into the mix, and a Principal Strategic Customer Success Manager takes you through DDM Explorer, where blueprints turn into a true playground. Build exactly what your environment needs.
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a practical understanding of how to bring blueprints into production, along with access to two additional simulations showcasing different workflows to keep challenging your proficiency on your own time.
